Our History:

Our Club was started in February 2016. We are a club of gardening enthusiasts who meet once a month on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 5:45pm at the Crown Hills Clubhouse, 1821 Victoria Park Terrace to promote, share and learn about drought tolerant plants, California native plants, and succulents to promote gardening in our dry, hot environment. We have monthly speakers or activities to further our knowledge on many gardening related topics including horticulture, composting, raising backyard chickens, water wise landscaping, birds and butterflies, insects and environmental fire prevention goals.

We have planted two gardens at the Alpine Historical Museum to highlight California native plants for birds and butterflies. The gardens are updated and maintained by members. Past activities have been participating in the Alpine 4th of July Parade, visiting local gardens and promoting our May “Butterflies and Waterwise” plant sale with release of monarch butterflies. The proceeds go toward our community garden project at the museum and other projects in Alpine.

During the summer months, we enjoy visiting members who volunteer their gardens for a potluck and sharing their special garden interests.

Come join us for lots of backyard gardening fun, meet people with similar interests and share your garden activities.
